Dick Glover was born in Grand Forks, North Dakota in1940 and grew-up in Fosston, Minnesota. In 1956 he moved to Beatrice, Nebraska where he finished High School and then attended the University of Nebraska from 1958-1962 and graduated with Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering. 

After college Dick worked for Boeing Aircraft for a year then joined U. S. Naval Aviation Flight Program and became Naval Aviator and served during Vietnam War until 1968. 

 

 

After leaving the Navy, Glover joined Northwest Airlines as a pilot and remained until his retirement in 2000.  Dick says, "It was great flying 727s, 707s, DC-10s, 757s and 747-400s." 

While flying for NW in the late 70's he returned to Post-Graduate School and received a Masters Degree in Business from Minnesota State that was formerly Mankato University.

He and his wife Gay and have four children; Christine, Scott, Christopher and Aaron and we now have seven grandchildren.

Dick joined the Excelsior Rotary Club in 2003 and started the STRIVE program at Minnetonka High School in 2004 to mentor and motivate high school seniors that are not achieving to their potential.   "It has truly been a gift and an honor to work with these great kids and to watch then flourish by graduation time," says Glover.  He goes on to say that "It was also great to work with such a committed group of Rotary Mentors that were always there and ready to motivate and counsel the students."
